I don't even know where to start with Charlie's hair, it is just like Keke's...Really long but so curly, you can tell how long it is. I am so glad you did this because her hair was driving me nut and she was not enjoying getting her hair done anymore because of all the knots when she wake up in the morning.

Thanks MJ...Can not wait to try this on Charlie :)

Congrats......to Suze she has a beautiful little Mixed Chick & Dude herself and I know she will be thrilled with the results of this product!

PUMPKIN PAINTING....AT A PRINTING PRESS????

On Wednesday afternoon, I took my children (yep, all 5 of them) to a community event in my town of Woodbridge, New Jersey.    They were holding a Pumpkin Painting event for the kids....and it was FREE.

The event was held at a little spot in town called Parker Press, it's in the heart of our township and now the hosting spot of many activities for the community.    It is quaint and has an old town charm to it so I had to snap some pics while my Picasso's were in the moment.  Or as my son said while he was painting "I'm like the modern day DaVinci"...yes he is the one who will be a politician one day...or a lawyer.   Not shy, loves to talk and gets his point across.  I'll probably be his campaign manager and definitely his event planner. LOL

Here is my crew and their pumpkins.

I have to say that as much as I want to escape the city and move to SC someday.  Living where I do in a historic town, gives me that hometown feel with all the perks of city life.  Big shout out to Mayor John E. McCormac for all that he has brought to our town, the activities, the sense of community, the pride.

For info on Parker Press you can click HERE
and you can click above (on the word town) for more about our township.

MIXED CHICKS.....WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN??

This post is for all those parents, grandparents and caregivers of a child of mixed heritage.  I don't care if your black/white, black/asian, latin/black, latin/asian, white/latin.   When I was pregnant with  I prayed for my baby to have curly hair, the saying be careful what you wish for is true.   I had no idea the trouble curls can give you.  I have wavy hair myself so nothing like what I received.  From day one that head of curls had to be handled..lol

I didn't want to lather them with product as infants so I waited.... but then I tried gels, creams, lotions, hair dressing oils...nothing gave it a natural curl look.  It was either crunchy, oily or frizzy.

I heard about this product MIXED CHICKS and had to give it a try on my 2 youngest girls......they happen to be BlackCaribbean/Italian/Irish/PuertoRican.

They have 2 different types of hair despite the same background.    I have tried many things on both of them, but this was going to be the big test.    Something created for them specifically...my little Mixed Chicks.

Mixed Chicks has products available for women and men!  So you can use these products on your daughters and sons....

This is my littlest daughter "KeKe", she is 19 months old and has the curliest hair Ive ever seen.  These curls bounce back like an elastic.   Her hair is long but you would never know it because the curls are so tight to her head.

She has soft but very kinky corkscrew curls.

They frizz up if left with no product, grease or hair cream

It was crazy so I took her to my hairstylist for her 1st cut at about 16 mos old.

Do you see how long this child's hair is....those curls are so tight!

This is her older sister " Maya J", much longer hair with soft loose curls....also brought her to my stylist to layer it because her curls get all twisted up like dreadlocks

Frizzy mane

Sometimes with tieback the top

Somedays we grease it back into a ponytail

This is a half up - half down style I use on her if her bottom curls are still good

On bad hair days.....we just grease it up into a bun!

Okay so now these pics are the before & afters after using Mixed Chicks for Kids on my girls.

Before: Front shot

Before: Back shot

After: Front shot

After: Back/side shot

Hair is less frizzy and falling nicely

KeKe is always on the move, so photos are hard with her.   But this is after her bath and Im lovin this product especially for her hair!  Thank you Mixed Chicks.

Her hair is soft, shiny and beautiful curls

No frizz or patches of knots.

Just perfect little ringlets

I love the way her curls look and feel now.

I encourage everyone who has an issue with their own hair or their child's hair because of texture...to try this.   I am  so confident that you will like it that I'm going to giveaway a Trial Pack of Kids Haircare!
TO ENTER GIVEAWAY:

Just leave a comment below and tell me what issue you are having with either your hair and your child's hair.   THAT'S IT!

Giveaway will run until Sunday at midnight...I will announce winner on Monday!

Please note:  My opinion is of my own, I have not been paid or asked by MIXED CHICKS to review this product.  I did so of my own doing and so glad that I did.

For more information and photos please visit the MIXED CHICKS website...as well as LIKE them on MIXED CHICKS on Facebook

I'M A RE-DESIGNING ADDICT.............

And if there is a 12 step program for this, I will probably redesign the program too!   For those of you who read/follow you know that I can never leave well enough alone.    There is always a tweak here and an adjustment of addition somewhere.

So the end of September I was not feeling well at all, and spent some time in my bedroom.   Which got me staring at my walls and soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo that lead me to want to redesign a few things in the room.

Here is how the room originally looked a few months ago after the 2nd makeover (lol)

My end table

Window wall on husband's side

Top of my dresser (that shade does not belong on that lamp. lol)

top of husband's dresser (which he never keeps this neat)

Here was the original bed wall .

THEN I WENT JUNKIN AND FOUND SOME TREASURES...then this happened.

Found 2 of these fabulous antique nightstands from a man putting them on the curb. (I had to rescue and cover in Olde White chalk paint)

Also found this tin wall hanging with a ledge, decided it was a perfect faux headboard.   Added some brass candlestick and vintage tin tray....change the pics and added plates w/ metallic branches & birds.

The I decided to move the tray up top and add an antique painting with some grey, cream, gold colors in it.  A wood picture frame with metallic glaze over it and my prized frame from Anthropologie (gifted by my sis Jenn)

I removed my husband's TV (we never connected or watched it in this bedroom) so it went down to the football room for a total of 3 tvs. lol   I hung my HomeGoods mirror and placed my bookworm muse on top and added all of my handmade jewelry holders made from vintage china.

The old painter's ladder was on another wall doing nothing, but now it holds my Nonna's linens and momentos  I like to have close to me.

My antique dresser is getting very chippy but I don't want to paint it.  Sconces will go on either side of the mirror (need to be spray painted and covers for my exsisting leather mini shades)

I added a tissue flower to my bookworms neck along with some pewter colored pearls.

My Nonna's vintage jewelry and old scrabble pieces from 58 & Grace shop

One of the mirror matted chippy frames I sell in my shop.

I'm keeping my vintage mirror wall above husband's dresser and will add to it as I find some new fabulous ones.
