THIS IS ADORABLE...PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT.

My 15 year old daughter showed me this video on her iPhone and I was histerical.  I thought the Huggies commerical was cute.  I even love the Etrade commercials with the babies in the highchairs.  But these kids are soooo freakin cute.

Hope this brightened your day!   Even tho on vacation, cant leave the blog unattended...lol

FRIDAY FINDS!!!!!

Okay so here are the little beauties that I told you about last week on Friday Finds.  Another Craigslist find, sweet lady...left them on the porch all packaged and wrapped for me.  I slipped the money under her doormat (god, i love that you can still have faith in mankind).   I know they're dark, but I'm going to paint them and make them lighter and give them a new home.  2 Chandeliers for $8.00

The above one has pretty amber/peach iridescent glass covers around it.  I'm not sure what room or what color this will be yet.

ROCKIN THE ROOST!

MY 5TH TABLESCAPE THURSDAY

Sometimes in this wonderful hectic house, they're a few hours of quiet time.   Not often, but it does happen.  When it does its usually short notice and my husband and I will just jump in the front living room (it was supposed to be a nice sitting room).  Its on the sidebar...its the Island inspiried room.    Well my husband like most men can never have enough flat screen TVs in one house or on one floor for that matter. lol.   I didnt fight him on it because I bought him a 52" as a homecoming present when he returned from Iraq deployment. Obviously he didnt want to be anywhere in this house without a TV so he then purchased 2 - 36" of the same television (technically a fathers day gift).  Anywhoooo so now in my wonderful Rainforest/Safari/Eclectic Living Room I have a large black flat screen television on my fireplace mantle.

All that said, when I get time to watch television (usually only HGTV shows) that is where I watch it so I can still watch the 2 little ones and be close to my kitchen area.

This is a set up for a spontaneous movie night for me and Big Daddy J....I got the ottoman on Craigslist (cmon what did you think)..So I just throw small cloths or fabric over it so we can eat on it.  Ive never been a tv table kinda girl...so 70's to me. lol

So the red fabric is remnant from my porch cushions, The rectangular fabric is a Dollar Tree dish towel. The white plates are also Dollar Tree, the mint colored bowls are Dollar Tree.  The glasses are my everyday basic glasses from Walmart set.  I also cut one of the dishtowels to make 2 napkins....we use them on our laps.  The red over them are actually red paper napkins.

This is a Ramen noodle night...(we were short on time...baby doesnt nap that long. lol) And besides, U.S. Marines are huge fans of Ramen (well maybe theyre just use to eatin the stuff for months on end) but either way this is what we used this setting for.

Remember folks...SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!  If you have a local organization that you can donate food to send overseas to our troops.  I suggest Ramen noodles...water is an easy thing for the military to have.  All a man/soldier/Marine needs is a bottle of water and a Ramen noodle packet.

WISHFUL WEDNESDAY

So everyone has there DREAM CAR right?    Well my choice Im sure is not that of your average 38 yr old woman and mother of 5.   This is my DREAM (I think this one is actually ceramic or a toy model...still its my fantasy ride)

So there are many kinds of turquoise vintage pick up trucks and I love them all but I would love to drive this around town.

Enjoy some variations of the turquoise pick up truck and be taken away to a quaint life where you can go to the local market for fruits and vegtables, drop your kids off (actually wouldnt be safe but remember those days of riding in the back of a pick up?  Well, we went on horseback riding vacations up in the Catskills in Upper New York State.

Love this one too..ugh!

This is a later model, but sooo digging the turquoise and the size.

This one is a lighter blue but I love the front grill.

This one has the perfect backend for my Craigslist finds..lol

METAMORPHISIS MONDAY...WELL ALMOST

This isnt the total morph of what it should be, but its not too bad so I thought I would go ahead and share with you all in its half complete state.

This is what I started out with, an old dark hutch purchased from a man on (Yes...you guessed it) Craigslist for an incredible deal of $25.00.

I knew right away that this was going to be one of the pieces I sell...I liked the lines, not to country (I love country items but I'd rather a more flexible piece) So out came the sandpaper and black paint.

I still have to paint the top hutch part, but Im so impatient that I had my daughter help me move it in from the garage on Friday and we emptied the other cabinet and loaded up this one. Of course I couldnt fit all my dishes, so I had to put some china and my wheat set into the garage for now.

I hope to complete the hutch when I come back from SC in mid August...I cant work on it this week, too much packing of children to do. lol.

Ugh.....my laptop caught a virus so I dont have all my usual stuff saved and I had typed this up yesterday, my husbands cousin thankfully is an IT guy and restored her to her wonderful self...except I cant get into pics and things are still a little weird.

So Im linking this up with Susan over at BNOTP of course ...thats my Monday party...lol   Im using the regular button due to my laptop issues....

And also with Marty over at Stroll Thru Life (wonderful blog)..awesome pillows this week!

SNAIL MAIL WITH KIMBERLY

I thought this was such a great idea that Kimberly had of a 6 week sort of penpal exchange. I received my partner and sent out my first letter last week. This week we are supposed to send a note with our favorite recipe. Im going on vacation the end of this week, but will continue to keep up with this. Its interesting to see how people react to your lifestyle, Im curious to see how my partnership turns out. Of course I will keep you all posted.
