THRIFTY THURSDAY???....IM THRIFTY EVERYDAY!

Yep...that's right everyday!   I'm a cheap chick, and you would be too if you had 5 children plus a husband to care for.     Did I mention I have a Home Goods and Craigslist addiction......so the thriftiness benefits us all.

Well I'm going to keep this short because I have so much going on with the jewelry and refinishing furniture.  I'm also excited to be writing a guest blog piece on a thrifty subject (I'll keep you posted).

Here are the fabulous things that I have acquired from last weeks Thrifty Thursday until today.   I have taken a vow that none of them will reside in my physical home but in my online shop.   I found a motto from a new blogger Megan and told her I needed to borrow it and use it to light a fire under my @ss and make my dream happen.  Street fairs in Jersey to Antique Malls in South Carolina.....this mama will make it happen.

DON'T STOP DREAMING.......START DOING!

WHERE SHE WILL DREAM SWEET DREAMS.

I'm a Craigslist addict and always have my eye out for treasures.   This is one that I found last year, but didnt get to it until last month.   It's an antique childs bed and the moment I saw it I had to have it.

But Im so in love with this paint color from Valspar I wanted to give you guys a sneak peek at a piece of furniture Im working on for the new nursery.    Well she's turning 1 so I dont know if it's a nursery anymore. lol

The project Im giving you a peek of is an antique childrens bed that I purchased for a lady in Jersey off Craigslist!  She was moving and they needed it gone.....I'll take it thank you very  much!

This is how it looked

METAMORPHISIS MONDAY...WELL ALMOST

This isnt the total morph of what it should be, but its not too bad so I thought I would go ahead and share with you all in its half complete state.

This is what I started out with, an old dark hutch purchased from a man on (Yes...you guessed it) Craigslist for an incredible deal of $25.00.

I knew right away that this was going to be one of the pieces I sell...I liked the lines, not to country (I love country items but I'd rather a more flexible piece) So out came the sandpaper and black paint.

I still have to paint the top hutch part, but Im so impatient that I had my daughter help me move it in from the garage on Friday and we emptied the other cabinet and loaded up this one. Of course I couldnt fit all my dishes, so I had to put some china and my wheat set into the garage for now.

I hope to complete the hutch when I come back from SC in mid August...I cant work on it this week, too much packing of children to do. lol.

Ugh.....my laptop caught a virus so I dont have all my usual stuff saved and I had typed this up yesterday, my husbands cousin thankfully is an IT guy and restored her to her wonderful self...except I cant get into pics and things are still a little weird.

So Im linking this up with Susan over at BNOTP of course ...thats my Monday party...lol   Im using the regular button due to my laptop issues....

And also with Marty over at Stroll Thru Life (wonderful blog)..awesome pillows this week!

FRIDAY FINDS!!!!!

So I haven't received treatment for my Craigslist addiction yet.  I can name at least 3 items in each room of my home that came from Craigslist.   I love a bargain plus as a mom of 5, I dont have alot of time to go flea marketing to garage sales or junking.

So I search until wee hours of the morning (my quiet time).  I usually go to bed at 2-3a.m. which isn't a good idea with a 4 1/2 month old baby.  But its all worth it  when I find a great deal.

I found this precious girl right in town and for $20.00, its a vintage sewing table.   I bought it to put into my 15 yr old daughters room which is going to be in a french, italian...lets say European theme. (I will post when complete).

But when I brought it into the dining room and just shoved it between my wing chairs (another craigslist find) it looked sooooooo good.   The legs match, so Im thinking mama's got a new side table for her wing chairs. lol

FRIDAY FINDS!!!!!

Well I am thrilled about this week's Friday Find.   I saw this hutch on Craigslist and it turns out it was listed by the same seller that I purchased the green colored Mexican glassware (thanks Marion).  She had it listed for $50 and gave it to me for $40.  (repeat customer..lol)  Ive been looking for a cabinet for my bedroom...not so much an armoire because I dont have enough room.  I already have the queen size bed, my desk, 2 antique dressers and not enough walls. lol.

So I hope to get this done before I go on vacation (1st week in August woohoo) Actually I hope to have it done by the end of next week, but I want to either paint the inside or line it with beautiful paper.  Any suggestions ladies?  I will be changing out the hardware and giving her a fresh coat of creamy white paint.

Im going to use the top shelves to store vintage linens and possibly a few small frames.  My days as a  merchandiser are kicking in and Im imagining folded piles of wonderfulness...lol.   But I dont want it to look like a linen closet so Im thinkin of it like a huge shadow box.
