Suze said...1
I don't even know where to start with Charlie's hair, it is just like Keke's...Really long but so curly, you can tell how long it is. I am so glad you did this because her hair was driving me nut and she was not enjoying getting her hair done anymore because of all the knots when she wake up in the morning.

Thanks MJ...Can not wait to try this on Charlie :)

Congrats......to Suze she has a beautiful little Mixed Chick & Dude herself and I know she will be thrilled with the results of this product!

MIXED CHICKS.....WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN??

This post is for all those parents, grandparents and caregivers of a child of mixed heritage.  I don't care if your black/white, black/asian, latin/black, latin/asian, white/latin.   When I was pregnant with  I prayed for my baby to have curly hair, the saying be careful what you wish for is true.   I had no idea the trouble curls can give you.  I have wavy hair myself so nothing like what I received.  From day one that head of curls had to be handled..lol

I didn't want to lather them with product as infants so I waited.... but then I tried gels, creams, lotions, hair dressing oils...nothing gave it a natural curl look.  It was either crunchy, oily or frizzy.

I heard about this product MIXED CHICKS and had to give it a try on my 2 youngest girls......they happen to be BlackCaribbean/Italian/Irish/PuertoRican.

They have 2 different types of hair despite the same background.    I have tried many things on both of them, but this was going to be the big test.    Something created for them specifically...my little Mixed Chicks.

Mixed Chicks has products available for women and men!  So you can use these products on your daughters and sons....

This is my littlest daughter "KeKe", she is 19 months old and has the curliest hair Ive ever seen.  These curls bounce back like an elastic.   Her hair is long but you would never know it because the curls are so tight to her head.

She has soft but very kinky corkscrew curls.

They frizz up if left with no product, grease or hair cream

It was crazy so I took her to my hairstylist for her 1st cut at about 16 mos old.

Do you see how long this child's hair is....those curls are so tight!

This is her older sister " Maya J", much longer hair with soft loose curls....also brought her to my stylist to layer it because her curls get all twisted up like dreadlocks

Frizzy mane

Sometimes with tieback the top

Somedays we grease it back into a ponytail

This is a half up - half down style I use on her if her bottom curls are still good

On bad hair days.....we just grease it up into a bun!

Okay so now these pics are the before & afters after using Mixed Chicks for Kids on my girls.

Before: Front shot

Before: Back shot

After: Front shot

After: Back/side shot

Hair is less frizzy and falling nicely

KeKe is always on the move, so photos are hard with her.   But this is after her bath and Im lovin this product especially for her hair!  Thank you Mixed Chicks.

Her hair is soft, shiny and beautiful curls

No frizz or patches of knots.

Just perfect little ringlets

I love the way her curls look and feel now.

I encourage everyone who has an issue with their own hair or their child's hair because of texture...to try this.   I am  so confident that you will like it that I'm going to giveaway a Trial Pack of Kids Haircare!
TO ENTER GIVEAWAY:

Just leave a comment below and tell me what issue you are having with either your hair and your child's hair.   THAT'S IT!

Giveaway will run until Sunday at midnight...I will announce winner on Monday!

Please note:  My opinion is of my own, I have not been paid or asked by MIXED CHICKS to review this product.  I did so of my own doing and so glad that I did.

MAMA'S GOT A NEW LOOK....

Well the end of June marked a time of Change for me!    This is how you have pretty much seen me since I started blogging...(well without the blue streaks because those were recent) lol

However Ive had the dark hair for a long time and decided I didnt want the dark raven hair anymore.  I wanted golden locks (well my locks were cut 6 yrs ago so maybe just the golden part) till I can grow back the locks.

My raven hair with blue highlights (yes that is our monogram tattooed on my neck)

This was the hot mess I walked in with the day of my hair makeover.

Let the makeover begin!

Ta-da....a nice cut (Im growing it out so the monogram will only get viewings by appt)lol
Yes that is another tattoo...it's of my husband's USMC dog tags.

Here is an overview of the freakin fabulous job she did at getting all the black out and lightening me up as best she could in one shot.

This is me posing at home in the sun (it was about 98 degrees outside) you see that glow...yes I was happy but that was the sun baking me.

A final shot of me and my new look.  Check out the fabulous Moroccan Oil bag I got from my salon.   This is going to be my summer weekend bag.  I can put away my leopard DVF for the summer!

I love my stylist so much, that I waited to have her give Kemorah her 1st cut...breaking all tradition of going to the kiddie salon.

Kemorahs has soft but the curliest little ringlets you've even seen.   She's like a mixed Annie! lol   But all the curls were cut and shaped so now she kinda looks like a boy. :)  But the dead baby hair is gone and it will grow out gorgeous now.  Next milestone, earring piercing FAST!

Hope you all enjoyed the journey of my hair makeover....you can check out my entire hair history HERE

ANOTHER NEW HAIRSTYLE

Yesterday I went to the salon Ive been going to for the past 3 years.  Found my stylist from a girl in the mall who's hair I loved and asked her where she goes.....and thats how I found Jess!   She gave me the haircut that I wanted and about 20 since then.  I love going to her, we try new stuff and she's on top of her game.  I went from the Victoria Beckman to Pink to Kris Jenner...lol   daughter says thats what my hair reminds her of.

She has since opened a new salon called Exquisite Hair Design.  There will be an upcoming post on the salon very soon.

My husband is in a wedding this weekend and I desperately needed a haircut.  I was just gonna get a trim and   shape it up since I was growing it out.    HOWEVER..... when I got there I was flipping through one of her magazines and saw this.

My hair is that color....although the profile photo is before the black.    So I texted my husband the photo and wanted to know what he thought.   I received a " I like it" text and that was that.    Off came the hair....again.
Jess is always great with making a style work for my hair....the more different the better.  She is very talented and so happy she has her own spot now.
Well thats what a mother of 5 looks like at the end of the day out with 4 girls (my son didnt come to the salon). lol

I will post a better pic soon, unfortunately I didnt take one at the salon...because my teenager was shaving the side of her head. lol   And my 3 year old was getting her 2nd haircut.  (all of those curls need some shaping up).  Plus the 6 month old was getting a little cranky after 2 cuts.

So at 10 p.m. at night at the request of my sis I took that bathroom shot and sent it to her. lol
