CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST...........ANOTHER TABLESCAPE

It doesn't take much to get me to do another tablescape.    So after the video was shot for the more elegant tablescape, the table was cleared and was bare for a day.   Then I had an idea.....why not set another table for our Christmas Breakfast.

On Christmas morning, the kids (all 5 of them) wake up at the sight of light sky and coming running down to wake us up and open presents.

After all that fun and mama has taken all of the photos of the smiley faces and video of the screams, then Im off to the kitchen to make breakfast.   We started a new tradition when we moved to the new house.   We have french toast but instead of using your everyday white bread.   I slice up our holiday Panettone and use it for the french toast...............so delicious.

So this will be our simple breakfast table for Christmas morning:

Colorful

Simple and Fun

My favorite NEW vintage looking trees

I love this pattern on the white plate, these are so old I don't remember where I go them. I believe my mother gifted them to me.

Some mini glass ornaments adorn the tree

My casual centerpiece

Greenery, ornaments, gift boxes with a playful holiday tablecloth

This year I am counting my blessings even more than ever....my step-dad is still in the hospital from this past weekend.  He has been battling cancer in his lungs and kidney, he now has cancer tumors on his brain.  This may be his last Thanksgiving so this year I will be thankful the time I have left with him.

TABLESCAPE THURSDAY.....ENTER IF YOU DARE!

Welcome to Casa de Joseph....sit down if you dare!

Black, Purple, Grey, White and Gold theme this year.

The pass through, not my favorite thing.

Big Daddy J got this for me at an estate sale.

On top of the credenza (we store vintage liquor bottles in there so little hands cant touch)

The spiders and quick little buggers...the eyeballs are the kids favorite!  My 3 year old always asks for 1 of Elmo's eyes (oooooo not good) lol

Skeletons and spiders....oh my!

Unfortunately I had to move the water cooler in the dining room to fit my fabulous black hutch, so we are including it in the holiday decor. lol

Crows, cobwebs and corbels

The buffet area, its been downsized in accessories, but I have to add more as time goes on.

This is just a little centerpiece that will hold spooky treats.

Last but not least, the dishes that my husband bought me weeks ago.  I will be doing something different with them soon but, they were still in the box and I didnt want him to think I didnt like them.

So it will still be tweaked at least 6-7 times before Halloween but I have to get started early around here because we have back to school nites for 4 children at 3 different schools. I have my tent show on the 18th. Im also having a Sweet Sixteen Tea Partly (with a twist) for my daughter in 2 wks. Then my husband is in a wedding of friends the weekend after that.   Then pumpkin picking.....So probably somewhere the 1st  week of November I should get some rest! lol

FRIDAY FINDS!!!!!

Well I know I said that I was trying to slow down on the Craigslist purchases, but just when I think Im done...they pull me back in.   I saw this stuff and emailed the seller, they agreed to wait the 2-3 days it would take me to drive to them (about 20 minutes from my home).  They actually left the items on the front porch and just told me to leave the money under the mat. (Does that even happen anymore, I was thrilled)

So of course I recruited my bff for the ride and pulled up to the house and there they were sitting on the porch.  It was like christmas for me...lol.    So I packed the boxes up and left the money under the mat and jumped back in my SUV when a large black milk can was starring at me.  Ive always wanted one of those on my porch, I have an old milk box that ive painted green, blue and now black. lol

As you all know by now I love plates, so it was a no-brainer that I had to have these plates with the mugs. Total of 8 sets for 10.00! Check out the mug handles....soooo cute.   I love that theyre in the original boxes...I plan on storing them that way.
Then the same seller had this black glassware...the glasses are square!  I dont know how it'll be drinking from those corners but they will look adorable as a black accent in a tablescape.  My wheels are already turning for a black and white tablescape but Im still gathering items. lol  There is 8 larger glasses and 6 small all for $8.00!   How amazing was that.....that's definately one of my best finds.   Talk about more for your money.

MANIC MONDAY.....MARSHALL'S STYLE

I haven't been to Marshall's in forever but since Ive been on a dish hunt lately I decided to make a stop.  I use to shop there alot for house stuff. Well less than 5 seconds in the store and of course i'm in the CLEARANCE section and I spot the HUGE glass vase (about 20inches)...its on the top shelf and I think wow that's nice wonder how much. So I take a look from underneath the glass shelf and there is a big red tag with $3.00 on it.  I was like OMG...I actually looked around as if I had discovered something and didn't want anyone to see it. lol    I reached up and slowly took it down, checked it out and then realized there was an apothecary top next to it.  IT COULDNT BE......did I find an apothecary jar of this size and condition for $3.00!   So I now need a cart for my treasure, then I head over an aisle to the dish section of the clearance area.  There I find these wonderful dishes..a nice selection to chose from so I had to think about what I had in mind.  I decided on 2 of these wonderful Portuguese Majolica style plates....Ive been watching some on ebay and figured these would be perfect dinner plate to the dessert ones I have in mind.  When I flip for the price....$2.00, i'm like in heaven now.  So I keep looking and I find thESE white weathered looking plates...they also come in a golden color but I have so many from my tuscan dining room in my old home.  So I decide on 2 dessert plates and these are marked $1.00.   At this point, i'm estatic with all my finds and decide to quit while i'm WAY AHEAD.   However on my way to the register, I spot a lovely aged pale turquoise stone candleholder.  It was also $3.00 and probably weighed about 3 lbs....it was very heavy.    Below you will see photos of my fabulous finds at Marshall's and hopefully soon I will post their final resting places.

FRIDAY FINDS!!!!!

Since Ive been so inspired to start creating tablescapes for postings,  I have been shopping a wee bit much lately...(shhhh dont tell Big Daddy)  So I thought I would create a weekly post to share my finds for that week, unless of course they make it to their own special posting first.    I think it'll be known as FRIDAY FINDS.....hopefully no one out there in blogland has that name coined already.  So here is a trip to one of my favorite stores DOLLAR TREE (unusual I know) but their inventory has gotten so good in the past year.  To be honest I have gotten alot of basic tableware items there along with tons of other items in my home like frames, hand towels and just other cute items I pick up there almost on a weekly basis.  Well this lovely little lot of tableware was discovered at a Dollar Tree that was on my travels during work (im on the road all the time)
