3 ITEM THURSDAY....WHAT COULD YOU MAKE?

Today's post is something fun for a little party with Christina over at The Tattered Tag.   It's a little something she calls 3 Items Thursday, and I just had to join the party.

So there is no specific rule other than to be creative with the items you are given.   This Thursdays items:

Toilet Paper Rolls
Clothespins
Burlap

Well, for those of you who know me this is my kind of party.  And for my new friends, well I'm a self proclaimed re-purposing princess.  I love all things old, vintage and will use them anyway I can if it isn't its intended purpose. lol

I even have a line of home accessories that I make from re-purposed items.   I can't install expensive solar gadgets on my home but I can do my best to recycle and reuse as much as possible to help the environment.

So here is a simple little project that I put together with my items:

Burlap bag and toilet paper roll

Let's get started.....

Handy scissors

Cut the toilet paper roll

Cut the burlap bag

Tada....a nice little dinner for one!

Burlap placemat & handmade napkin ring

My secret revealed......my napkin rings are made from TP rolls wrapped with fabric. lol

Simple, Easy and using what I already have.....just my style!

I had a busy week....so Im a little late to the party.   But I always like to make an entrance! lol

GUESS WHERE I WENT TODAY..........IT WAS A THRIFTY THURSDAY!

Okay so I've always loved PIER 1....but haven't been there in awhile since I had the baby.   But today my little bug and I went shopping together!   I carried her through the store and showed her all the lovely SALE items! Gotta start her early, she is the youngest of 5 so more for your money is the motto I try to teach them.   I didnt have anything specific in mind just wanted to browse and see what table top items I could find.  So here is what I came up with......all these items totaled a big ol' $16.65 with NJ tax!!!

I just purchased 4 panels of fabulous purple/gold/black curtains from a woman on craigslist (Hi Chastidy).  She had a beautiful home (I coulda spent the whole day there just coming up with ideas for decorating). Went to pick up curtains and we talked for almost an hour and she showed me her home and her Memorial Day tablescape!   I got the 4 panels for 30.00 so now Im gathering some purple items so in the winter/holiday season I can do a purple/gold theme in my dining room.   So that pile of purple are napkins for a wonderful tablescape im planning (a little early I know but I like to add on and adjust so I allow time for that).   Here's a pic of the curtain fabric...its delicious!
