Yea...I guess you could say I was a teacher's pet. My mother loved this teacher and I guess she had a liking for me too. I dont know if my chalk board obsession stems from my love for her but it definitely reminds me of her. I tried to contact my old elementary school years ago to reach out to her. They said she was on a mission in Africa......I knew she was special.
So this post is dedicated to my 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Rattery of P.S. # 38 in Jersey City, New Jersey and for inspiring me and giving me a love for chalkboards as well as an appreciation for others in life.
Thanks to WhisperWood Cottage for hosting such a fabulous celebration:

Okay so I have 5 children which means alot of school work coming home. My preschooler comes home with artwork everyday so I decided to give her a little space of her own. I had already refinished this old hutch last year in black, sooooooo who says it cant be a chalkboard art center too!
Her Spring Artwork
Her April art (it's a raindrop)lol
A little chalkboard contribution on our family name wall
Our much used kitchen chalkboard
These vintage beauties are future projects for Lucky 7 Design shop...u can tell they're old from the black board finishes
This a vintage one that I refinished this week. Its in a cream base with chocolate glaze. I added the brown satin ribbon for hanging. I love this for the kitchen.....so I payed homage to my Nonno and wrote today's dessert menu in Italian.
Im working on some more chalkboard projects for my show in June and also a possible booth in an Antique booth. Exciting things happening here at Lucky 7 Design. Im a lucky girl, but most importantly blessed!
Ciao!!!
