Well the grand opening is less than 2 weeks away.....so I wanted to get the word out there, especially in the downtown area where I am opening.

This is what I had doodled in my book and today took some time to measure, cut, draw and painted my idea......on recycled paper of course.

It reads:

POSSIBILITIES................

Well most of you already know that I was not able to go with my original location for the new Lucky 7 Design shop.    I was disappointed and then I took to the pavement and started walking Main Street area looking for possibilities.

Well here is what I have found, it is just a possibility but Im hoping it will be my saving grace.   I shared the photo on my facebook page and got some really great feedback.   Although the window will be challenging for me since it's all split up, I think it will work.   I had a great suggestion for a window box....I'm excited with all of the possibilities.

The more I look at it, the more charming it can be with some simple touches.   I would first paint the door and the window frame woodwork either a white, an off-white or grayish white.   I think the facade is perfect with the shingles and the signage will work too.  Remove the lettering and it's a blank slate for a new logo....MINE!

Big things happening for Lucky 7 Design this year!!

So what do you guys think?

P.S.  I forgot to mention earlier when I posted this, that the owner is a woman and a dress shop owner as well.  She is only 2 stores down from this one, and she is such a lovely lady.   Maybe it's another sign that my saving grace will be given to me from another businesswoman.

FRIDAY FINDS....CHAIR UPDATE!

I posted a picture of this chair on Facebook earlier this week, and it was also added to my home tour post.   Im a Craigslist addict (my husband has dubbed me the junk collector)  Im always checking the FREE section of course (who wouldnt).   Well this is what I came across..........

photo from craigslist listing

on my front porch..cushionless (getting a cleaning) lol

After a nice cleaning

After a little merchandising....notice anything?????

Yep...I sanded and painted out the bottom frame black to match the black fireplace.

Here is my little reading corner....well magazine & catalogs corner.  I got so happy about the black that I also painted the top of my little elephant table.

Sometimes you have to look deep to see the potential.   If I see something I like, I grab it because I know I will find a way to use it or transform it into to something usable for me.

Did I mention that it was......FREE!     Hello I got a cute chair to relax in and read my magazines (or dream of sitting and reading) for nothing, nada, niente, zilch!

SHUTTERLY SHABBY

Excuse the short & sweet post, but we had our teams Autism walk yesterday and birthday party today so this is what I have to share today.  Also try to get to refinishing the furniture pieces I have to put up for sale so I can get more. lol

I've had 3 of these black real wood shutters for years.  When we moved from the old house I took them and they've been in the garage until now.

Very weathered painted black wood shutters

With a new scratchy coat of Valspar Atlantic Gray (it looks like Robins Egg Blue)

Here they are in the new space.....

This is a much better pic, they match the refinished antique bed

WHERE SHE WILL DREAM SWEET DREAMS.

I'm a Craigslist addict and always have my eye out for treasures.   This is one that I found last year, but didnt get to it until last month.   It's an antique childs bed and the moment I saw it I had to have it.

The original Craiglist post picture

After a rough coat of Valspar - Atlantic Gray

I then distressed all the spots I felt should be aged

Here is her new home in the new nursery

I love the rails on the side

It's the perfect height for little legs

NEW YEAR.....NEW INSPIRATION

2 days from now we will begin a New Year, and for me that means I need a new look in my home.  Ive been living in this house for a little over a year and haven't touched hardly a thing.

I painted the kitchen from the former buttery cream to a sandy oyster beige (i don't remember the color, just that its from Lowe's of course).

The baby will be 1 year old in March and I need to change that deep burgundy color in her room (pic on sidebar)
and I also want to change the bedroom, hallway, and possibly dining room too.  Oh did I mention the downstairs football cave and family room area.

Lowe's hear I come........I thought I would share with you some photos of inspiration.   Each photo has a little something that I like and want in my rooms.   Hope you enjoy.
