THRIFTY THURSDAY....Ricordando il mio Nonni

Well...Thanksgiving is next Thursday!!!  Can you believe it, well I guess you can.   From working in retail for years Im so use to being a season ahead, however my family & friends find it funny that I already have my tree up with lights on (no ornaments yet tho...that happens the weekend of Thanksgiving!

I thought I would share with you a thrifty idea for Christmas.    Last night I was photographing holiday items for the shop and this is a little vignette.

This tree is from my Nonna's house and it smells of eucalyptus...It actually goes in the kitchen.   Her father, my great grandfather Nonno Nicola was a pastry chef and owner a bakery in Brooklyn back in the 1930's.    I love my family heritage and tradition so this year again in honor of him..... I took some vintage cookie press discs and tied them onto Italian Linen clothes all cut up.

Perfect little culinary display for the holidays

You could use colored ribbon or twine too.

I think it's a thrifty little idea with a lot of meaning!

BUON NATALE......Ricordando il mio Nonni

Stay tuned for sneak peeks of items that will be at my Holiday Boutique, December 9th at Lucky 7 Design studio.

FEATURE FRIDAY & A GIVEAWAY BY.....58 & GRACE

Okay so Ive been waiting to share this fabulous chick with you all.  Her name is Whitney and she is the creative mind behind 58 & Grace.

You know I have mentioned her Etsy Shop before....I could live there.  It's the most inspiring little shop I've seen.   It's filled with the most amazing little treasures and she presents them in such a way that I just want them all.    She inspires me to want to create things from these treasures....in fact Im working on some pieces for my Junkin Jersey Mama line that will incorporate pieces purchased from Whitney.  Her eye for vintage is crazy cool and Im so happy to have met her.     Im excited to share her with you and she is excited to because since we originally discussed this it went from her being a giveaway guest to me featuring her on my blog.   She wanted to still do a giveaway and has added items continuously up until today.  I mean that is just a passionate perfectionist and I love that about her.

I could go on for days about her but here is how she tells her story.........................

Hi, I'm Whitney, the thirty-something Midwestern gal behind 58 & Grace. I'm a wife, stay at home mom, homeschooler and after all that a photographer, crafter, artist and obsessed treasure hunter for all things vintage, lovely and repurposeful. I'm always on the search to find new vintage goodies that delight and inspire you to create.

Running 58 & Grace has been an absolute blessing for me for it has not only allowed me to share but also to connect with so many artists and creative souls that I would have otherwise never met. I feel that a large part of my creative "self" that was once empty has been abundantly filled since starting 58 & Grace and I can only hope it continues to grow and nourish the artistic needs of those out there that come across my little shop.

Smiles & Happy Creating!!

You all know that I CAN'T do a post without the most delicious eye candy, so here are some of the treasures in Whitney's shop!

I believe this word sums up Whitney and her shop.
She does inspire me and I hope she will inspire you all too!

DAY 8............CROWN OF BOWS

I WANT TO INTRODUCE YOU TO.....SUZE OF CROWN OF BOWS (a.k.a.) TIME WELL SPENT

Suze and I met during the Circle of Moms TOP 25 contest, I love her accessories and we were completely supportive of one another.   We also had a connection through having bi-racial children (can I just tell you how adorable her son and daughter)  Her daughter models a lot of her accessory and is also a great subject for her photography work.

HERE IS WHAT SUZE SAYS ABOUT HERSELF ON HER BLOG:

My name is Suze, and I am originally from Haiti.  In an interesting turn of events, I found myself living in the Mountain West of the United States.  Being in a different environment took a little time for adapting, but I'm loving it here.   I have two beautiful children who keep me busy most of the time and married to the most amazing man(November 2006 in the LDS Denver Temple).  Actually, let me tell you when I started making bows. It all began when our family had a bit of a shock! Our second child was supposed to be another boy, but lo and behold, the doctor pulled out a girl!   From that moment I have enjoyed the process of raising a little princess. In anticipation of when she would have a head of hair... (She is getting there)... I started to make hair bows. They started building up and I found I was developing some pretty creative work (at least my husband says so)!

I also do photography and I love catching those wonderful moment on camera .

Beautiful  glammed up flipflops

Punk Princess tutu

Punkster bows

Rainbow of bows

Patriotic Tutu

Headbands

Hairclips

Matching hair bows & flip flops (OMG she is sooo cute)

Mama's crafty with the hair too.

Ummmm yes these are Suze's gorgeous children modeling her adorable line of bags, ties and skirts! (I personally am a huge fan and need a set for my little one.

HERE IS SOME OF SUZE'S PHOTOGRAPHY WORK

HERE IS WHAT SUZE OF TIME WELL SPENT IS GIVING AWAY TO ONE LUCKY 7 DESIGN FOLLOWER:
