HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES HAVE BEGUN.....

Well yesterday was our town's fireworks celebration at the waterfront park.   This year I decided to save myself the walk over to the jam packed park of probably 1000+ people for a nice but short show and then make the pilgrimage back home.


Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I decided to do like some of my neighbors and have a party in my front yard.....Here was my little set up for snacks, drinks, dessert!

 

I wanted an Americana feel so I used some on my vintage pieces and the same color scheme as on my porch....RED-WHITE-BLUE & TURQUOISE! 

I put my little red Christmas wagon on the left and lined it with a turquoise Pier 1 napkin....stuck in a vintage pie tin for height and filled with blue & red juices for the kids...water bottles for adults.  Added one of my handmade shutter stars.

Use placemats from last year (love the colors) to bring some color and it held 2 bowls of food.

One the right side is a red cubby box...which I used to hold Smores Pop Tarts for the kiddos and some plastic forks.   All the plates & cups were to the right.

In the center I used my vintage chalkboard that I painted blue and gave all the passer bys a message from our house to theirs.

That big circular tray in the middle is a pretzel tray from the Philly Pretzel Factory!  I cant tell you how good those things are, I order one or two for any little event or party we have.   We had butter cream and chocolate dip for the pretzels YUM!!!!

WELL I LEAVE YOU WITH SOME PHOTOS OF THE FIREWORKS...THE NEXT 3 DAYS WILL BE FAMILY TIME SO I WILL SEE YOU WEDNESDAY WITH A SPECIAL GUEST SURPRISE!

Oh and I had to share this, my husband brought this home from grocery shopping this morning (yep, he went shopping and make me brunch)

I first met Lelanie when we were part of the Spring Fling together.  She is so sweet and she is partying with us all the way from Spain.  When I started planning this party I had to reach out to her and she so graciously said Yes....and put together such a nice giveaway!  

Here is how Lelanie describes herself:


I am a Filipina residing in Mallorca, Spain, married to a Spanish national. We are blessed with two lovely children,6 and 3. I have a BA in Language and Literature and a MBA degree but being a mother is what I am proud of the most. I used to teach in the university but had to take a long "hiatus" when I became a mother. It's one of the best decisions I have ever made in my whole life. Nothing beats being a SAHM! I love it! ^^)

I love to craft(scrapbooks, crosstitch, punch needle embroidery, sketching, etc.). My father is a master crafter: from sewing to embroidery, knitting, crocheting, crosstiching, sketching, carpentry... name it and he knows it! I learned most of my crafting skills from him. I am a mother, a crafter, a migraine warrior and miopic, too. ; )

My sister also sells her own creations in this shop under the brand name Hikari, handmade in Japan.




Doesnt she just sound like a sweetheart....I wish she lived closer I would so take sewing lessons from her.

Y'all know that LP, was my 1st bloggy bff.   I won a giveaway for one of her magazine bowls and gosh months later we were talkin all the time)   She would here about my process of launching the my jewelry on Etsy in '11. lol  Geesh she still had a bun in the oven when we met..I was the who had the new baby. lol   Times have changed, she is a new mama and still as crafty as ever.  I think she needs to be A CRAFTY SOUTHERN MAMA( is that taken????)


Wow she is just super creative and we have a mutual love of junk, and creating beauty from junk.   She is amazing with textiles and she even made a necklace and named it after ME!  Yep!  If y'all don't buy it I will, but that would be a little awkward! lol  So buy it!


Her blog is awesome and filled with awesome projects like the stacked wood floor lamp she made (along with her hubs help)for Baby C's nursery.  Not that she couldn't do it but she was like 9 months pregnant y'all.  She is not afraid of power tools!


Her shop is filled with amazing trash to treasure creations and just amazing treasures.  She recently launched a wreath line in her shop and they've been highly requested.   She made one for her door and it matched my porch theme and we later found out we had the same talavera birdbath (we just have way to many things in common) so that is why she is my bloggy bff and because she is freakin adorable and talented!  My red/white/blue/turquoise wreath hangs proudly on my door! 


When I finally move to SC, her and I will be collaborating on something, heck let that little boy get a bit older and we can do tag team effort between NJ to SC!
