FRIDAY FINDS!!!!!

Well I know I said that I was trying to slow down on the Craigslist purchases, but just when I think Im done...they pull me back in.   I saw this stuff and emailed the seller, they agreed to wait the 2-3 days it would take me to drive to them (about 20 minutes from my home).  They actually left the items on the front porch and just told me to leave the money under the mat. (Does that even happen anymore, I was thrilled)

So of course I recruited my bff for the ride and pulled up to the house and there they were sitting on the porch.  It was like christmas for me...lol.    So I packed the boxes up and left the money under the mat and jumped back in my SUV when a large black milk can was starring at me.  Ive always wanted one of those on my porch, I have an old milk box that ive painted green, blue and now black. lol  


As you all know by now I love plates, so it was a no-brainer that I had to have these plates with the mugs. Total of 8 sets for 10.00! Check out the mug handles....soooo cute.   I love that theyre in the original boxes...I plan on storing them that way.

Then the same seller had this black glassware...the glasses are square!  I dont know how it'll be drinking from those corners but they will look adorable as a black accent in a tablescape.  My wheels are already turning for a black and white tablescape but Im still gathering items. lol  There is 8 larger glasses and 6 small all for $8.00!   How amazing was that.....that's definately one of my best finds.   Talk about more for your money.

HOLY INSPIRATION

Since I posted my dining room tablescape, I thought I would show you the continuous evolution of this room in the past 6 months since we've moved here.  The wall color and light fixture I couldnt change, but it might be a possibility soon (yay).   I had this room and some other posted on RMS but there was alot of drama and negativity...Im happier here in blogland with you ladies.   Im not as great a photographer as some of you, so the pics dont really look as glamorous as a magazine spread.   All the same I hope you get a little idea about me from my room.  You can also visit my RMS profile at:

I've changed some things around already, almost weekly.  I happen to get bored very easy, or as I'd like to think I just get inspired often!   I love my 2 antique pieces in this room (gift from Officer J and my babies for mothers day)  I wish my dining room was a little bigger (little bump out on the window wall is on my wish list).

MY 2nd TABLESCAPE THURSDAY!!!!

Well after a little break from work and as much as I tried to stay away from my laptop I couldnt. lol   I tested the waters of a coastal tablescape.  I was working with what I had and didnt want to purchase any new items so its not elaborate but I think its nice. Hope you like it.

This is on the antique buffet....I liked the taller candle on the table better so I stuck a smaller one in this apothecary jar (remember $3 at Marshalls).
This was my $3 creation from yesterday....all 3 items purchased at Dollar Tree for $1 each.  I didnt use glue because I'd like to use pieces separately as well.
This is the center collage of the table....im not thrilled with the tablecloth and have since removed it (too much to re-photograph this late. lol)  You lose the impression of the clear glass items against the wood table. But we live and learn ladies.
Another one of my apothecary jars...i just placed 3 bags of sea glass in it (Dollar Tree) but I already had it because I have it in a tall glass vase in my bathroom.  Once again, you lose the detail on the base with the tablecloth.

This basket is the basket I purchased the shells in, its decorative of course but I thought it was different. It could always hold a roll.


These shells were in a huge bag of seascape items from Home Goods....I split the bag up and have items in 3 different rooms.
Ive since removed the tablecloth and now will have to hunt down some placemats....back to Dollar Tree!

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Okay so it's like 1 a.m. and Im browsing blogs and came across some really great ones and also entered some giveaways.  I added about 2-3 buttons of some fantastic ladies, but Im guessing I forgot to press SAVE.  Because I just went back to my blog as a final check before bed and theyre not there.  Im really upset because when your going thru blogs you get caught up and follow stories of links to other blogs.  Its like when your driving and you catch a red light and stop and then think how did I get here. Its scary...Im upset and trying to trace my clicks but I dont know if I can remember names or anything.  Ugh rough night....Goodnight all!

A BEFORE AND AFTER....MY WAY

Well you ladies know we've seen candlesticks and bowls made into cloches and dessert trays and what have you.   While shopping in Dollar Tree today for some snacks for my daughters pool get together (not exactly a party) I picked up some treats to compliment my new tablescape which I will feature on Thursday over with Susan @ http://www.betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com.  This little project is going over to Debbie @ Debbiedoos B&A Party  http://debbie-debbiedoos.blogspot.com  .3 simple items, each $1 = an adorable little treasure to me.  Simple I know, but Im really not a complicated lady, just a shop-o-holic and craigslist addict.  I hope you like this little treat, it can be filled with anything.   I used seashells because I live by the water now and Im doing a coastal tablescape this week.

MAMA'S BOY MONDAY.... NOT SO MANIC TODAY!

So I was out picking up an ottoman from Craigslist with my son.   We were in a parking lot of a shopping center that happened to have a TJ Maxx!  Now I know this may seem strange to alot of you ladies, but Ive never been to an actual TJ Maxx.  I shop Home Goods, Marshalls but there just wasnt a TJ Maxx that I knew of until right then.   So we go walking in and my son asks what we are getting, and I explained that Im just going to look because Pops (my husband) will not be happy if I come home with any more stuff. (haha....you ladies know that means you've been shopping way too much if you have to start doin it on the sly)

  My son's response " It's okay mama, I will buy you something with my money.  You can think of it as a late mother's day gift!! (Awwwwwwwwwww that's my mama's boy) I said no its okay Im alright with just looking (such a lie.........parents shouldnt lie to their children. lol)

  Of course I head straight to the CLEARANCE section and he's talking about a girl he'd like to buy something for (a sweetheart since Pre-K 3) so he wanted to go to the jewelry section.  I quickly scoured the shelves and just like at Marshalls on top of the highest shelf was this long glass container.  I think its the bottom of an apothecary jar but top was missing.  I checked the sticker on bottom.......$4.50 WOOHOO! He said how much is it mama?  I said "Dude, its only $4.50, she i'm a cheap date.  He replied...ewwww that's kinda gross mama cause I wouldnt date you, your my mother!    I just laughed, I also found a bag of those fun decorative balls for 4.99 and debated on whether I should get them.  He said, "I'll get those too, its the least I can do for you mama, you gave me life".   The 2 ladies in the aisle turned around and were like "OMG, can we have him please, he's so sweet...we've been listening to him talk with you this whole time.  I apologized and said "No I like my mama's boy I think I'll keep him.

BBQ's and pool parties are great, so is getting together for fireworks at night.  But, let's all remember what today is about (take a look).  Let's also remember all of our military men and women that are away from the U.S still fighting for the freedoms that we enjoy every year at this time.  I  dont mean to preach, Im the wife of a U.S. Marine who served his deployment overseas a little over 1 year ago and Im happy that he is now home with us.  Not all are so lucky, please pray for those who are not home at this time and thank them for their sacrifices so that we may enjoy our freedoms.

FRIDAY FINDS!!!!!

Well Im feeling a little better after having spent the whole week home with the kiddies.  Cant say that I completely rested while being home, I do have a 3 month old and 3 year old who need tending to. lol  But while nursing or during her nap time Im always searching Craigslist and what a find I got today.  These beautiful baby girls are in perfect condition and get this $25.00 (okay u can pick your jaw up now) .  I brought my bff "chacha" with me for pick up and even she was impressed (p.s. she has fantastic taste)  She's the shopper, Im the decorator.....we make the perfect pair.

FRIDAY FINDS!!!!!
