GERMS...PAINT OH MY!

Well of course on the weekend that I want to start a major home redesign project.....switching my bedroom with the baby's nursery then move 2 little girls in together.   This will entail spackling, priming and painting 2 bedrooms....then Im also painting the adjoining hallway that leads to the dining room and the dining room too.

So I figured I would give you 2 before pics to think about and then compare to the new reveals later this week.

I made 2-3 trips to Lowe's this week to get all my supplies ready to start.   Got my primer, paint also bought some new curtains from Waverly that I really like.  They had a promotion going on too...spend $50 in painting supplies and get $5 off.....plus I had $5 Valspar coupons from my FREE sample kits.   Cha-ching!   Love Valspar and love Lowe's.

But of course....something always happens.  My son got a throat infection, then my 4 year old got it too.  My 10 year old caught a stomach virus and then gave that to my 4 yr old too!.  It's only a matter of time before it does a hit and run on all of us.

But Big Daddy J already moved everything out of the room and I had to keep this project on track.  We settled the kids in and got to work.  Big Daddy was on baby duty but did some painting (he hates painting) while Bugga was napping.   So 2 rooms down and kids in somewhat of recovery, I hope to get the hallway and dining room done by the end of the week.

Hopefully I will be able to post the reveals this week...if Im not sick by then!   I have a ton of emails to answer from both blogs and FB messages but I will be back on track soon!

MY MIND IS STILL AWAY

I know I just hosted a CSN givewaway but my mind is really still on my weekend getaway with my husband.  I thought I would share with you some pics of the surprise romantic getaway he planned for just the 2 of us.

Okay so he know Im an obsessive planner and had to tell me 1. so that I could arrange proper childcare arrangements for our 5 kiddos. 2. So that I could pack appropriately because I hate to not have what I need.

But we had so much time together and had so much fun.  I forgot what it's like to sleep through the night without waking up to change a diaper or make a bottle.  I also forgot how it sounds to not hear Mama or Daddy called out at least 20 times a day.

So here are some highlights of our trip.

We stayed at the Wyndham Resorts in Atlantic City and I must tell you it was great.  The condo, the service, the location....we couldnt have asked for anything better.   We will be back...right now my mind is still there.

MEET MAMA

Many of you know my name (Melanie) and some of you just know Lucky 7 Design....well I want to invite you to another side of my life.    My family life....although L7D is a lifestyle blog it focuses more on my home and entertaining.  I love decorating and design but Im also a mother of 5 children and that is my primary purpose and what I spend most of my time doing.
